Burn BABY BURN!
Okay, our (LIPO's) 1st 5K for 2010 is coming up and is just one month away.
Personally, I am nowhere near ready and have been VERY inconsistent with my workouts.
I am making a commitment right here right now to get more "serious" about my exercise routine and preparing myself for this race and others this year.
Who's with me on this? Come one, don't be shy!
I just read this and thought it may help some of us:
Burn, Bay, Burn
Try to think of exercise as opportunity instead of punishment. It is a privilege to be physically able to do what we want, when we want. So the trick is to do things you really enjoy that will also give your results. Be mindful of the difference between activity and exercise: activity encompasses the day -to-day movements that are part of your routine.
Okay, the truth be said, I hate running.....but when I run, my body gets in the best shape its ever been in. Also, when I completed my first 5k (2 years ago & and twenty pounds lighter) I saw 3 people with no legs in wheelchairs and a blind man running, this made me think how lucky I am to have the opportunity to run without these obstacles.
Who wants to make the exercise commitment with me? We can track each others progress right here on OH.

Okay, me first.....lol
I went to the gym this morning and walked on the treadmill for 3 miles and rode a stationary bike for 3 more. I took it easy my first day back, but it felt good.
My intention is tonight after dinner to run one mile (weather permitting), I'll keep you posted.
Ok, who's next, how did you move to lose today?

Hello
I for one an starting TODAY to get back on track with regular workouts and work on putting me first again!!! I have ordered 2 DVD's, Zumba and Kickboxing today and I look forward to doing them but today I am starting by getting on my treadmill when I get home from work! I also have a yoga DVD so I might try that as well. I need to start some place and gaining back 65lbs is not making me happy!
Thanks for the motivation, wish I was still on LI and could come to your group! ~hugs~
Thanks again!
