Anyone have surgery at Buffalo General Hospital
are tou having lap band or bypass. it took me about 9 months to have surgery but i delayed it myself. a friend had the surgery in 4 months...it is diff for everyone. they do have a new doctor there who i know nothing about. if you are considering the lap band i would choose hoffman, for bypass choose dr posner. hope this helps...if you have specific questions, pm me and ill give you my number to call. after the seminar you get an appt for a 3hr appt. you meet with the np, see the dietician and physical therapist. the np orders any testing you need like labs, sleep study and any other tests based on your history. now you start the south beach diet, after all the tests you go back and see the np again and then this is where you meet the doctor. you see the dietician once more and then after you lose the weight needed and all your tests are in then they set up a surgery date for you
Thank you, that helps. I didnt know how long the process would take. This gives me a general idea of my next steps. I"m not in a rush, just hopeful I can get it done this year. I really considered the lap band, but I I heard you can see the port after you lose the weight. I'm fearful of not having some of my intestines and being vitamin deficient so r-ny scares me too. I have a lot to think about. Which did you have?
i had the lap band. i was afraid of the potential complications from the bypass. i have lost 60 lbs. i can feel the port but you cant see it. i guess it depends on the weight you get down to. but they can reposition the port. i have heard some have had it down with plastic surgery. i know i will eventually need plastic surgery, so i can have it done then
