I LOST MY KITTY JASMINE TODAY TO CANCER SHE PASSED AWAY IN MY ARMS ON THE WAY TO THE VET WE HAD PLANNED TO EUTHANIZE HER; SHE WAS A SPECIAL PART OF OUR LIVES FOR OVER 14 YEARS...BUT I DID NOT EMOTIONALLY EAT; INSTEAD I CHOSE TO FEEL THE SADNESS AND GRIEF ALSO REMEMBER THE JOY AND HAPPINESS. I SHARED MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS WITH MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND MOST OF ALL MY HUSBAND....IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE OUR HABITS i KNOW,,,,,NOT EASY AT ALL BUT POSSIBLE THIS TOOL HAS BEEN WONDERFUL TO ME AS WAS ALL THE PERSONAL EMOTIONAL GROWTH I HAVE DONE IN THE PAST 7 YRS,

Jamie,
I am so sorry for your loss and so proud of how you handled it. A pet is such a large part of our lives, and losing one is like losing a family member. Hang tough!  You are truly an inspiration to us all.
Hugs,
Lisa

Awww Jamie ..
.
I'm so sorry about your loss of your dear Jasmine.

Just the thought of losing one of my kitties brings me to tears... they are both getting older (15 and 12). The younger is on daily medications for thyroid.. we almost lost her before she was diagnosed... so painful to think of.

I am glad though that your sweet Jasmine slipped away while in your arms, I'm sure she felt your love and care for her.

and you are right... it's ok to feel the feelings... work through them without self medicating on food... and move toward peace- without guilt.

thinking of you...

Oh Jamie I am so sorry for your loss. I understand and know your loss.  Isn't it amazing what our little furry family members can bring to us?? It just shows me what a symbiotic world we really do live in.

Bravo to you for not emotional eating, sometimes we just have to 'feel' whatever it is we are supposed to be feeling. Cry, laugh, scream, yell, whatever it takes. It IS ok to feel. Just keep verbalizing my friend.

PS I just realized that I have posted on the New York state board and I have no idea how I got here.  Sorry

jamie: SO very sorry for your loss. You have done so much for so many of us here on this board that I am sending a huge hug your way! I have an 14 year old lab mix who is so dear to me and my brother.  They are family.  Your Jasmin wanted  to be in your arms because she loved you and was secure in that love.  You are so strong willed - your great attitude and willingness to help others will see you through your rough times. THank you for all you do for us all here and for all of your posts. Again, I feel your pain and wi**** would ease.  Your Jasmin's love still shines down on you, too.  Take care.  Molly
