Greetings (again) from Long Island

Well, its been a long time since I've been on this site but I figured with my continuing attempts to better myself it would be a good time to come back.  So, hello!  Stop by my profile if you get a chance to read a little about me.

Just figured Id say hello to a fellow long islander.

How are you doing?  Did you have your surgery here on L.I.?

Im good thanks for asking...how about yourself? Yes, I had my surgery at St Catherines Medical Center in Smithtown....how about you?

I'm decent.  I actually had my surgery in Bronxville, NY even though I started the whole process at the Long Island Bariatric Center in Wantagh.  Ever hear of it?  They have support group meetings once a month and us RNYers are currently in the minority.

No I havent heard of it...when I first researched WLS I only heard of 3 other practices on LI besides the one I used...I recently started going to 2 different support group meetings...Good Sam hospital and SCALE which my friend Heather is a co-leader of... I also belong to LIPO but because of my job I havent been to any of there meetings yet.

I don't even know what SCALE and LIPO are, lol.  When did you have your surgery?

I'm Heather. =) I had my RNY on Dec.1, 2008 with Dr. Cussatti in West Islip. =)

I run a post-op group, SCALE--Second Chance At Life Everyday =)

Oh, and LIPO-Long Island Post Ops is a fabulous group I attend--
It is run by Maryellen and she is wonderful =)

It meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month--the next meeting is next Tuesday, Feb 16th!
It meets at the Sayville Library on Greene Avenue.
