HElp finding a Plastic surgeon who accepts madicaid/medicare in Buffalo
Hi Stella! Highland Hospital in Rochester has a good plastics program. You can find it online. I'm not sure Medicare or Medicaid will pay for plastics - most commercial insurance doesn't cover it either. Dr. Langstein, head of the Life After Weight Loss plastics program at Highland, said he is successful at getting about 75% of this patients TTs paid for by insurance if the patients can document a history of rashes, yeast infections, etc. I don't know if that extends to Medicare or Medicaid. But you might want to start documenting everything in detail, including pictures, just in case. Good luck!
Thanks Laura....my Dr has been good about documentation of all that fun stuff. I actually just found a guy and made an appt here today. They think it will be covered. I am having pics taken on Feb 11th to submit to insurance. (How embarassing! lol) I can't wait to get the process started. I just want a pannilectomy, I can deal with the rest.
