I'm so sorry to hear that! :(
Check with the local school districts. We're always in need of substitute teacher's aides. No certification required, just a desire to work with the students (background check required though).
I know our school has at least 4 subs a day in the aide department, and we're always looking for more. Everything from cafeteria to playground, secretarial to health office. Some of our subs work every day of the week...
it's something to think about until a more permanent position comes along. Good luck!

Hi - Your screen name says it all. Wannaliveagain. Try and remember that and things will hopefully turn around for you. YOu took a brave step in having surgery, and life is all about ups and downs - you're going thru some downs right now but things will get better. You have your health -Your little one has you what more can you ask for?? I know it's hard and understand your need to vent- I will say a prayer that things improve for you. Hang in there. Hugs, Mary
I'm so sorry to hear your news! I was laid off once and it scared the crap out of me! You have every right to be feeling depressed and hating! But I know you'll make it through this. Hang in there and don't give up!
I have a recommendation: Sign on with a temp agency (Kellys, workforce, etc.). They usually need all kinds of skills (typing to manual labor to engineers, you name it!), and you can accept or decline whatever work they have for you depending on if you already have something going that day (like a job interview somewhere else, or just don't want to get up, etc!). Plus, they usually pay in the same week, so you don't have to wait a week for a check. And the really good thing about it is the networking opportunities. You can get your name out there with the companies you temp for, and often get offered a permanent position if they like you. And it keeps a little money coming in in the meantime.....
Good luck!
