St Catherines support group

Does anyone attend the bimonthly bariatric support group meetings at St Catherines Hospital in Smithtown??  I keep telling myself I need to attend a group since I am not under surgeon supervision anymore ( he moved out of state) just PCP supervision...next week I am 6 months out and I am currently at 91 lbs weight loss....let me know your thoughts and opinions on what you do for support...thanks

Amanda did you try LIPO they hold a meeting once a month. They are also on here OH. I do go to Dr. Brathwaite's group in Patchogue twice a month and we take people who did not have their surgery done by Dr. B. They meet at the Crown Plaza right off of the expressway exit 63. The 2nd tuesday of every month at 6 pm and then again on the third thursday at 12:30 pm. I pray this helps you I would not have gotten through with out the support I seek.

Also Good Sam Hospital in West Islip holds meetings every other Saturday @ 9 am. All are welcome. No specific Dr or Sugery. The next meeting is Oct. 17th. 

LIPO is also a great choice. Great support group and the leaders really help to motivate it's members. They set up monthly activities to get them exercising,, bowling, dancing, mini golf, walks..etc. Their meetings are held once a month on a Tuesday evening. Go to LIPO support group to learn more about it.

There is also a new group formed called SCALE. It's also held every other Saturday in Sayville at 9 am. The next meeting is Oct. 10th. This group can also be found here on OH. Look forward to seeing you at one of these meetings.

Thank you everyone for your responses...I have joined LIPO on OH...I will be away on vacation from the 9th to the 18th so all those meetings will have to go on without me- LOL...I will be at the OH event in Rye Brook the end of the month...Hope to see you all there!
