Hi Everyone!
Hi everyone!
I am still terrifically happy with my RNY! I am stuck at 180 right now but my clothes are all getting big on me. All of my 18s are too big! Now I am fitting in 14-16's! What a way I have come from 30-32's that were tight on me! I know that I have said it before but I need to say it again. Getting my RNY was the best thing I ever did for myself! I can do so much more and I take so much less medications! I just have to say that I am HAPPY with my new life!
Here is a picture of Steve and me:
It is so good to be able to enjoy my life!

Hi Marcia - May I say that you look wonderful!! I am very happy for you and I, too, am happy over my decision to have WLS. At my highest I was 435 lbs. I am at just about 240 now and hope to drop around 100 more but if I don't believe me as you know, I feel alot better and can walk and do stuff I never dreamed I'd do again!! I think that by relaying your happiness with RNY or any WLS for that matter, it helps others who may be contemplating making this type of change to their life. We are living proof that it does work!!
Now that said, I also want to add what someone told me and it is so true.: Weight loss surgery isn't a miracle cure for weight loss. It is a tool which will help you. (As we both know) In most cases, the surgery is 25% of the loss, then diet and exercise make up the other 75%. Now, whether it's true or not, I try to keep this in perspective as my appetite has slowly been coming back. It's not bad so far but I am finding I can eat just a bit more with no problems and thus begins my challenge, I guess.
Didn't mean to sound down, just wanted others to know that you do have to do some work with this surgery, too in order for it to be totally successful! And obviously, you and I are among the successes!!! Again, you look great and I am so happy for you! You will start to lose again, we all reach plateaus (me too!) and even if you don't... 180 is not a bad number at all.. Ihope I can get there someday!! Hugs!! Mary
