Hi I had surgery in Jan with dr. Sapala>>>how much weight have you lost so far....mine is going slow but I am ok with it becasue people actually think im dieting since i didnt lose all the weight at once. I am also glad to only be obse now instead of morbid or super obese....thanks Dr. Sapala!!!!!!!
hello,
I had surgery with him back in 2005, when he was still part of CORI, in Manhattan. Then he moved out to Brooklyn for a few years with 2 different hospitals. Now he is suppose to be out on LI someplace.
Personally, i would NOT have surgery with him. Firstly, he frequently changes hospitals, & just abandones his patients! He left them in Michigan, Manhattan, & Brooklyn! A surgeon that changes jobs every 12 or 18 months is not a "good" sign. He's a grown man, not a college student! So, if you want to be left with no doctor in 12 to 18 months, he's a great choice!
Next, the micro pouch is a VERY flawed procedure. There is NO stoma, just a small pouch. The result, is that your little pouch does easily stretch. However, without a stoma to help keep food in place, your food passes out of your little pouch & directly into your intestines. Hence, you will be able to eat more, & keeping the weight off will be VERY difficult because you have no resistence from the pouch! You will have to rely on your "willpower" once you get more thatn 2 years out!
I can easily eat 2 full slices of pizza.... sometimes when i'm hungry i do!! I don't do it everyday or week... as pizza, chips, & sweets are my demons, so i try to stay away from them!
Since i can eat a lot, i find that pre-packed diet meals work best for me. Weigh****chers, LeanCusine, NutriSystem, etc. I eat the serving & stop!
I stil take my vitamins daily, & still use a 90 calorie protien drink in the morning. I still log my food, calories, protein, carbs, & water intake into an excel chart, so i always am aware of what i'm eating.
Enjoy the honeymoon period~ it doesn't last long! It takes a lot of hard work to maintain!
