I just had surgery on Wednesday and now that Im home Im looking at the whey powder that I had bought prior to surgery and wondering if I bought the right stuff, it is called Body Fortress Advanced Whey Protien, I bought it from Walmart?  Does anyone have any suggestions on another brand or somewhere online that I can buy it from.

Hi!  Glad everything went good with your surgery and you are home.  I think quite a few people use the Body Fortress brand whey protein.  I prefer the GNC brand 100% whey.  They have quite a few flavors and mix easily in drinks.

Good luck!

Hey Kristy! congratulations on your recent surgery! Mine was last Thursday and the pain is easing up- switched to tylenol- off the lortab.
Each Day it Does Get Better....

I also bought the Body fortress.. got mine at Price Chopper  they actually are carrying quite a bit of stuff for Bariatric Pts. I'm surprised.

anyway- I bought the Vanilla Flavor and it really isn't too bad. I've mixed it in my left over Medifast shakes. I've put it in SF pudding & mixed a small amount in my pureed tuna.

Is there something specific about it that you don't care for?
Since, this is also my first protein powder in a looong while- I'm just glad the smell didn't knock me over like one powder a gym was trying to get me to use years ago. GAG.

So until this is gone I guess- I'm going to stick with it. I figured Vanilla was the safest choice.

hope you find one you like and continue to feel better day by day!

You can get a protein powder called UNJURY on-line. Just google it. I don't think it is sold in stores. This can go in warm (up to 180 degree) liquids and anything cold. A lot of people in my support group swear by it. I haven't bought it because we were allowed to start adding soft solids at two weeks and I already had a ton of protein drinks.

I am using EAS Whey Protein powder when I need to boost my protein. One scoop is 23 grams protein. It's low carb. I got it a BJ's but I think Walmart and Price Chopper carry it too.

I use GNC "Whey Isolate 28" chocolate. If you get protein try to get isolate, it the purest form of whey protein.

Great option for those looking for a great tasting high protein low carb supplement.  The flavors are delish!

There is a great website "world according to eggface" where the poster (who had wls) makes fabulous recipes with the protein powder found at the franchise GNC stores. it's called MAXX protein and comes in great flavors.  I have eaten the chocolate version, and it does not have that chalky taste that many protein powders have.  However, it does FOAM up quite quickly in the blender so I use it to mix into yogurt etc.
