NYC Support Groups...

 Hello everyone,

I'm a student in NYC, but I'm having my surgery in my home state of Colorado.  Unfortunately, that means I won't be able to attend my Dr's monthly support groups.  I'm discouraged o discover that most support groups are not open to the public.  So far, I've found one (LIPO) that is open and looks like it will fit me to a "T." The only problem is that it is 2 hours from my home.  I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any open support groups in the city (any of the 5 boroughs will do).

If you go to the main page of this forum and look under events, you will see a listing of support groups that welcome all. I would also check out the NYU surgical associates they have a forum on this website they may be able to help you. I hope this helps.

Lenox Hill Hospital support group meetin is every 3rd Thursday at 6pm at the hospital.
The meeting starts at 6 and the first part is nutrition/exercise based, starting Aug 20th at 7pm there will be a new group dealing with the emotional/mental side.

If you would like to know more PM me I'd be happy to meet you at the meeting or in the city sometime--having friends who've been thru WLS is invaluable!!

P.S. Our meetings are open to everyone regardless of where they had their WLS.
