I have a requirement to lose 10% of my weight loss by this Thurs so that I may have a surgery date.. I was at goal.. but I think I gained it all back.. I went to jersey for a bday party and had 2 slices of ice cream cake a cupcake and 4 small chicken tenders and a flatbread sandwich and an empanada... Now that was lunch... (OMG! I know..) then we went to the pride parade in the city.. I had a huge pina collata drink, some steamed dumplings... then on the way home we went to burger king and this is the kicker... I had a snack wrap and a steakhouse burger with fries.... WHY THE **** WOULD I DO THAT?????? I was with family and Ugh.. I feel so dissapointed I think I probable gained 4lbs... and if I walk into that office on Thurs weighing anymore then 240... I am going to be devistated...How could I even eat that much?? I dont get it... Why?? Im sorry I dont want a pity party.. it was my fault and so on.. I just wanted to vent.. and thank you for reading

i got my date AUGUST 19TH 2009!!!

One word for you honey --- protein. Stick with it and it should come off real quick. NO CARBS! Depending on your doctor you may still be able to get a date if you are close. Good luck. Remember -- PROTEIN, NO CARBS.

the 10% percent requirement is for 2 reasons 1) your liver needs to shrink for easier lap surgery and 2) it shows u r mentally ready to be complient with the after life of the tool being given to you during the procedure ...
you need to really determine if you are din FACT DONE or this wont work in the long run for you
I dont mean to sound nasty ro harsh but this is REAL
I am almost 3 years out and belive me I Struggle every day I DO NOT DUMP ....EVER (I prayed for dumping syndrome) and I AM IN THE GYM 5 DAYS A WEEK to maintin this ................

I fully understand the severity of this surgery and im ready for it. If I wasnt I wouldnt have lost all the weight or quit smoking. I just had a slip up I am still very proud of myself for accomplishing what iv done. Im just a little dissapointed that I let food win this one time. I go to the gym 3x a week now as well. I really just had a wtf moment.. Thank you everyone for your input/support I really appreciate it.

This is a really good lesson learned..... the surgery does not change your brain.... We all know it's only a 'TOOL'

It's a struggle now and we need to work on our brains every single day.... I'm 18 months out and trust me, I know what 'crap' I can and can not eat..... so unless I make a conscious decision not to eat it or not to bring it into my house.... it'll go right in my mouth... All you can do now is accept that you ate it, move on and work to get rid of those calories you ate with exercise.

Good Luck !!

It's OK.
Sounds like you were doing the "last supper" thingy.
You have to remember and realize that it is always going to be a struggle still. You have to change your mindset. Eventually after surgery you will still want all that.  I don't deprive. I have been lucky so far to not want alot of things I used to eat before WLS. It is weird but alot does not even taste the same or is not as appealing as it used to be.
If I do want something that I know is not the best thing for me I will have a bite or 2 and that usually does it for me. It never tastes as good as I think it is going to anyway.
After you start eating better it will be the "good" stuff that you will crave. I thought I would never crave fruit, salads and veggies!!

Keep plugging,
Lisa
