It's been a minute since I been on this board.  Ok like 3 yrs... I had my surgery Sept 20 2005 and I remember it like yesterday... but slowly all those promises I  made to myself ... those "never again's" .... creep back intoo my life... many believed it was easy one making the choice to go under the knive... and it wasn't and now I truly know why... maintance it the hardest part... I gain some weight back before ever reaching my goal  because bad habits became consist habits and now I am slowing feeling those feelings I had pre-op ... you know .... dont wanna get out the bed... dont wanna pack a lunch .... grab a quick bite thru the closest drive thru....i deserve my fav junk food because I'm happy, sad, depressed, tried, happy, excited, whatever the feeling... is the right feeling for that piece or 2 of sugar, fat or greasey substance...

We watch celebrity and pass judgement and if their not prefect.... I'm not a celebrity and I am for from it.

hello
this journey is so hard (at least I think for me)
I have to lose 20 pounds that I regain when I was having trouble with my thryoid,
so it was not an easy option, I will have a tt in the 4 to six weeks, I know that the outcome will be better if I just lose the twenty pounds, I also had surgrey in 2005, but my new approach is not to beat myself up about the I did not dos' but to take each day, and make that day work for me.
their will good days, bad days, I have days when I want to eat everything in signt,  we all have triggers.

take care this message for me as well as for you.  we will win this battle.

Hi!

Well, look, you are making the right step by admitting that you have adopted some habits you're not so happy with and also by coming here to connect with us and try to get back on track! =)
So, kudos to you for doing something, rather than nothing!

There is lots of great support available here, as you know. And, there are lots of great support groups in our area, too! Good Samaritan Hospital has a group every other Saturday morning from 9-10:30am. This coming Saturday, the 13th, is the next meeting. =) All are welcome, not just Good Sam patients--anybody can come!

Also, there is LIPO, Long Island Post-Ops. This group meets at the Connetquot Library in Bohemia. They have a group page here at OH, just search for LIPO. =) They meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month--the next meeting is June 16th at 6:30pm!

Then, there is my group, POSE LI--Post-Ops Supporting Each Other on Long Island. We meet every other Thursday in East Meadow--Speno Park, to be exact. Our next meeting is this Thursday, June 11th at 6:45pm. You can find POSE LI's link below, in my signature. =)
POSE will also have our physical activity of the month this Saturday, June 13th at 1pm at Eisenhower Park for Mini-Golf!!! All the info is on our page(click the link below).

All three of these groups are really great! And, personally, I believe that Support is a fabulous thing! I know it keeps me on track and feeling good! I learn a great deal and I love to interact with other Post-Ops! =)

So, if you can make any or all the meetings, you'll see me there, as I attend all 3! If you have any questions or need more info, feel free to PM me! Hope to see you soon!

Hugs to you,
Heather
P.S. You'll get back on track, I just know it! =)

The Good Sam meeting is at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip..It is on Montauk Highway just west of the Robert Moses Causeway...=) The meeting is in the Guild rConference Center. Enter the hospital through the main entrance, pass through the lobby and make a left down the main hallway. The Guild Conf. Center will be on your right--I think it's the first right...but the sign says Guild. =) If you're not sure, you can ask at the front desk. But, it's very easy to find. =)

The meeting starts at 9 am. Find me and say hello! =)

And, just to remind you...My group that I lead--POSE LI-- is meeting at Eisenhower Park Mini-Golf at 1pm that same day. =) Feel free to bring a family member or a friend with you, if you'd like. =) We'd love to see you there!

If you need more info about my group or about mini-golf, visit POSE LI's group page--the link is in my signature. Our next meeting is this Thursday, June 11th at Speno Park in East Meadow at 6:45 pm.

Hope to see you at Good Sam or at POSE's meeting or mini-golf! And, introduce yourself so we can say hi in person....you'll know it is me from my pic here!

See you soon!
Hugs,
Heather =)
