Has anyone been denied for bad shrink evauluation

My friend and I have been doing this journey for a year know and I got approved but she just called and said she was denied becuase of the shrink evaul.  I think if she wasn't stable enough wouldn't the shrink have told her that she needed to come back and get her prepared to have the surgery.  And get this the shrink had the gastric done and was ranting and raving about how it changed her life and then she denies someone *****ally needs and wants to get it done.  Go figure.

Your friend is entiled to a copy of her psyciatric eval, she should cosider getting that. I would also recommend she contact the psyciatric provider to discuss results and recommendations. If disatisfied she could ask for a second opinion as well. Just my thoughts.

They usually are looking for unresolved issues with food or other disorders that would complicate things afterwards or make the surgery pointless. If they reveal that they eat while depressed but havent dealt with that issue, the surgery wont fix that...get the report and look at it some people treat the surgery like a magic bullet and think if they could just get it then all the weight will magically fall off and stay off and that far from the truth your friend is the only one who can say why she was denied....my own personal suspicion is she might not be honest with herself??  i could be wrong and hope that i am    good luck
