gallbladder surgery

I went for a gallbladder sonogram on Monday and found out that I am full of gallstones so on Dec 19 I am having my gallbladder out. I am waiting that long because I am off for Christmas break from work and will not need to take many days.

Bummer. Although I have heard that this is not uncommon, since we eat very little fat post-op?  I hope it doesn't keep you laid up for too long and that everything goes well.  

The doctor said about 2 weeks. We are out for Christmas vacation from the 23rd til Jan. 5. That will take up my vacation with a few days I will have to use for sick time. I just dont like the going to sleep part. i am fine with the pain and everything that comes with it afterwards its just the going to sleep.

I could understand that. I also hate that post anesthesia feeling that seems to last forever. It's like being hung over for days without the fun of the party. What a drag on your  Christmas vacation, huh?
