Ha anyone here had a child after lap band surgery?

Hi,
I had my lap band march of 2007. I lost a total of 67 pounds and I'm happy as I can be with my success. I'm now pregnant and wanted to know about other women's experience with the band and pregnancy. Any complications? any discomforts? Thanks.

Congratulations on your pregnancy.  There is a pregnancy forum here that will give you more information.  Although I had gastric bypass in April of 2007 I'm 8 weeks pregnant.  Best of luck to you.

You should go to the lap bnad fourm if you haven't already....have there been complications? Yes I've read that sometimes the baby can push against the band or port and dislodge them. But I'm sure they can tell you better over there....

congrats we have had at least 2 in my local support group, many I hear need band deflated due to pressure in abdominal cavity. Close contact with both OBGYN and bariatric surgeon would be recommended!
