I got approved!!...

A few days ago I received a letter in the mail from the insurance company saying based on review of my file I am approved! How ever, I'm a bit confused by the letter. It went on about how a significant weight loss could be expected and they would not cover the removal of excess skin. But it did say the GB was approved. My question is- I think it put my surgery date on it as well because up at the top right corner it says start date for the claim "Dec 30th" end date "Jan 2nd" so I am guessing that the 30th of Dec is my surgery date and I can have up until a few days in the hospital.

Does anyone else know if that is the case? I have to go back to the Drs Tuesday, so I am going to take the letter to the nurse practioner but I was just curious if anyone knows this in advance because I'm excited. I have Excellus BCBS PPO if that helps anyone in how they do their letters.

I'm pretty happy. When I read that letter I started crying because I was so happy and I feel like my life will finally change. I've been pretty unhealthy for a while now and I have tried every diet known to man and nothing seems to work.

CONGRATS!!! I remember that awesome feeling and it rocks!  I bet that might be your surgery date as well. I guess you can make sure with the Dr's office when you go! Now if it was me I would be calling first thing....LOL I can be a nudge that way!

Congrats on your aproval! I had BC when I had my lapband surgery done. I don't remember anything about a date on there... Best bet would be to ask your Doc!
