Laparoscopy, here I come.

Well, it looks like I have to go back to the OR for an exploratory laparoscopy.  It appears that I may have an internal hernia.  I have had 2 episodes in the past few weeks of severe abdominal pain that feels like bad gas that was not relieved by Gas-X or any other means. I saw my surgeon today, and he said that it sounds like an internal hernia. Unfortunately, the only way to diagnose this problem is with a laparoscopy. It cannot always be seen on a Cat scan. During the laparoscopy, the MD can repair the hernia and take a look around to make sure everything else looks fine. I am not sure when I will be having the procedure, but I will keep you all informed. Hugs, Lisa
