I guess I just need some help here,,I'm now 8 months out on the 18th and I seem to be stuck at 70lbs.  I know, I know, 70lbs is alot, but I see people loosing a WHOLE lot more in this time frame.  I thought I was doing everything right.  Well,,now I just don't know anymore.  I'm eating the required protien drinking the water and working out.  What else can I do to jump start myself here????  Any hints??  I didn't go through all of this to be the one only loosing 70lbs  It's much too soon to be this discouraged!!  HELP!!

what was your pre-op weight? how long have you been stalemated? are you on the band or bypass? are you doing Cardio or nautilus? Male or Female? Why regret you ONLY lost 70 lbs? Some people would DIE to lose 70 lbs. It is not a tragedy...it is a blessing. You are living healthier. You have lost atleast 70 lbs and kept it off. It is not a failure...it is a success. I look forward to hear from others in what they say.... keep your chin up (chins in my case) :D

heysheesh, I am sorry the above post came across as rude, I honestly did not mean anything harsh by it. I just thought that some more info would have been helpful for others to diagnose it better. please, forgive my harsh soundingness

Hi, I have had lots of plateaus in my weight loss.  I found that if I up my calories a little it helps.  I get into a routine of eating only 800 calories a day...when I up it to 1000 to 1200 I seem to lose more...???  Don't lose the faith...I have lost 105 pounds since 5/10/07...22 pounds to my goal...and I'M GONNA MAKE IT!!!!  Good Luck...keep us updated. Thanks for being honest. I am also stuck.  I have been away from the gym for a few weeks with sick kids and husband.  I know it  can be frustrating. I look at everyone elses success and I feel frustrated that I can not have it so easy. But it did not happen over night to get this size. I reflect on what my platueus were when I was "dieting" and they appear to be the same now.  I am stuck at 50 pounds (195). I have only lost ounces over the last 2 weeks. I just keep moving on. Others say be patient it will come off we are not eating enough to have the scale move in the oppostie direction.  It is so difficult to get out of  the dieting mode. I don't know about you but this is the time I would be "Checking" and setting myself to fail. This is when our best tool comes into play our new small stomach. We will never be able to cheat like before - Large sundaes, bag of chips  are not possible nor do we want the consequences. Good luck let us know when you break to platueu

Thanks everyone for the support and your stories!!  It sure helps to know that I am not alone in this.  I have also heard that sometimes you need to up the calories for a jump start.  I remember when I would do the Atkins program and adding some carbs would give me the jump start I needed.  I guess all we can do is keep plugging away.  Thanks again!!  Lisa
