OH yea there are definelty other surgeons but the main ones are the doctors at Highland were your going and then there is my doctor out of ParkRidge. Well to answer your questions....... 1.yes I had to go to a Physc doctor everyone does that is just part of the process, and so is the nutrition you must see a nutrionsit atleast 3 times the minumin.(at least for blue chioce). 2. I booked my appt. to see him back in August my first apt with him was in September so maybe about a month, and why I say waiting list because it's a process to see the doctor then for a appt. for the phsch and then the nutrionist the longest person I had to wait to see was actually the PSHCY doctor. 3. My stay is about 3-4 days in the hospital becasue I'am going for the Laproscopic approach. It's a longer stay if it's open maybe just another day. 4.and again I started everything back in August 2007 I would been able to have the surgey in December but I wanted to get through the holidays first so I opted for Jan. so total about 4 months but believe me Debbi everything flys so fast becasue in  between your waiting for your date you still have to get your appt. for the other doctors and I'am not sure about Dr.O but Dr. Iaonolli makes you attend at least 1-2 WLS group meeting. So good luck and if you have anymore questions feel free to shoot me a line

Back in the summer is when I called my doc to get into the 3-hour seminar to just learn about the surgery.  that was the end of June.  I got my seminar in November and already had my physciatrist appt. on Jan 8th and my nutrition seminar on the 10th.  My next nutrition seminar is in Feb. then in March.   When I got back from the nutrition seminar I was blown over by all of the info and does and don'ts.  Now I think I have a good handle on it. Man but all of that food out there and those commercials are getting to me!!!  You can't even watch tv w/o something coming up that will add 100 more lbs. to your thighs!! Did you every watch Big Medicine?  It is on channel 71 on Sun.  Very interesting. Please let me know how you are progressing, keep me up to date, and I'll do the same.   Debbi
