- Quote by Robert H. Schuller Hi All,

As the new year is upon us, it's time to reflect on how far we have come in our WLS journeys. I can't believe that in 16 months I am down 155 pounds. I recall WEIGHING 155 in the 3rd grade; it was humiliating, as kids can be cruel...and there were very few overweight kids back in those days.

I thought a good topic would be to share our greatest "miracle" since surgery.

Here is mine:

My WLS Miracle is: I can walk for HOURS and HOURS and have zero pain in my feet and knees! I never thought the pains would go away, even if I lost weight...and they did!

Let's share our miracles! Happy Upcoming New Year to all! Hugs, Karen

OK, I'm back.  Just got back from being in the ER for my mom....I'll explain to you later Karen. Anyway, hmmmm.... the  WLS miracles are very much the same for me as the NSV's. 1)Being able to cross my legs (only you pear shaped woman can appreciate that one!) 2)Being able to share clothes with my 15 year old daughter! 3)Feeling truly satisfied at each meal without stuffing my face! 4)Being able to go to the gym daily and not have my ankles get swollen! These are just a few of my favorite things!

Karen, I have lots of WOW moments...but, I think that shopping in the "regular" department now is my greatest joy.  I actually bought a real winter coat this year.  In winters past I couldn't find one big enough.  Another little joy was actually feeling my ribs!   You are an inspiration... Rosemary

I am not at my goal yet but already experiencing miracles here and there, thankfully!  A recent big one is having a huge house full of people before Christmas and for Christmas Eve dinner, only getting 2 nights in a row of 5 hours sleep each and still having energy to spare!!!  It was incredible!  I wouldn't have been able to do this last year.  Oh and on top of that my house was pretty close to spotless!!  Woohoo!!

***My "miracles" are very much like the rest of yours. I had a torn meniscus in my knee which required surgery. (Before WLS) The pain was excruciating at times even after physical therapy. I couldn't climb the stairs or walk for any length of time. Well...........with the weight loss and lots of walking, I have almost Zero pain in my knees. ***My arches had fallen also(flat feet) and that was an added pain problem Sometimes I needed help to get up from the couch. NO MORE! ***The biggest relief is not having to go on a "DIET" on New Years!  YAAAY. ***I'm in a size 10-12  jeans now. (That still has to sink in.) Thanks for sharing.
