Thank you!

I assume you had a positive experience?   I am a diabetic and go to the endricrinologist on 12/31/07 - that is the one I am concerned with.   My main testing day is 1/04/08.  Any tips on getting ready for this? Thanks!

Hello!  I go to Dr Clarke at Ellis.  I am having the RNY 2/18 and just got done with all of my testing.  I do need cardiac clearance cause my EKG came back abnormal...which is normal for me... but they are being catious.  I go for my medifast appt on 1/4/07.  They are a great group. I hav all in one day 2 weeks ago the ekg, chest x ray, ultrasound, upper gi, pulmonology, and endoscopy.  it was all fine, just took a while.  Good luck with everything.

Congrats to both of you!!! I love Dr Clarke!!! He is really busy though & the only disappointemnt I've had is that I haven't seen him since I was discharged from the hospital!!! He got held up in the OR the last time I was there!! The PAs they have though are really good!! I met the "new guy" the last time I was there & he was very nice!! I have had absolutely no problems so far!! I am down 91lbs & 36.5 inches since I started this journey!! They are very cautious & will do as many tests as they deem necessary!! I did have a couple of things come up which have turned out to be nothing, thank god, but I liked that they checked it all out!! I liked that about them... leave nothing to chance!!! Yes, they normally try to schedule your battery of tests on the same day at Ellis... much more convenient!!!  Hell, you're there so you might as well get it all done!!! Good luck to both of you with your tests & Medifast!! Don't worry about anything - they take care of it all!! If you need tips on surviving the Medifast stage just give me a yell... I remember it like it was yesterday!!!! ...and every now & then I wish I was still on it since some days it's a "bother" to eat!!! I know, amazing isn't it? I am "bothered" by having to eat!!! Who would've thunk it???   However that's the one thing I do make sure of...  eat although some days it's a chore!!! So far so good!!! Cece

I have Dr. Clarke at Ellis Bariatric. When I first looked into this group in July 07 Dr. Panemanglore wasn't listed as a surgeon here, so I think he is new to this practice. My surgery is scheduled for January 7th and so far I have been very satisfied with this group. They set up all appointments except psych, dealt with my insurance company, and have been very supportive and friendly. I'm sure they would be happy to answer any questions you have in regards to his experience. Good luck! Jeanine

From consult date (10/07) - includes 62 pounds lost on medifast before surgery.

Dr Lirio retired so they had to bring in a new surgeon. There is also a female surgeon who's name escapes me at the moment. She has been out of the country for a while so I am not sure what's going on with her... she is really nice too... she did the seminar I attended!!! I met Dr. Panemanglore once in the hallway - he said hello to me & seemed very nice!!!  All in all I really do like the folks at Ellis. There are a few quirky personalities but that's bound to be the case anywhere!!  Cece

Hi everyone.. I'm new to this message board.. I too see Dr. Clarke and am very fortunate that he'll be my surgeon on 1/25... WOO HOO... 29 days and counting until my surgery.  I've been on Medifast since 12/8 and have lost 16.4 lbs.

Does anyone have any information you know.. the stuff that  no one tells you about, that may be worthy for me to know?

HI Michelle,,I wondered where he ended up???  I was one of his patients while he was in Buffalo, I was all but scheduled for surgery when he disappeared and I was told I would have to find another option for a doctor.  Needless to say I WAS'NT impressed!!!  I think there were reasons why he was no longer a part of that practise but I couldn't say why.  I know others who used him and it seems they have more issues than I ever have.  They seem to throw up alot.  They were never unhappy with him, I have just noticed the difference between their surgery and mine. I ended up having mine open instead of laproscopic which I feel was a better choice for me.  I think every thing happens for a reason...Good luck with everything.  Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help you through this journey!!  Lisa :)
