Hi Yes I remember all of you for Lisa's Party. Too bad we didn't get to have one this year. I have marked the LIPO Group on my calendar. I am 53 miles from the library. Driving a distance for a good cause doesn't bother me and I would very much like to come. As long as the weather is good, I will be there. If you send out email mail reminders, please add me on. [email protected] Thanks guys for including me.

Hi Marie, I also met you at LisaMarie's party last year! Too bad we didn't have a party this year...we should try to make it an annual event. Maryellen and I met at that party as well...and look how far we've come! We run LIPO and it's a wonderful group! I get so much from the meetings because the members are so awesome. There are people at all stages in the group: newly post-op, years out, etc. Some are doing well...others are struggling with issues including head hunger, weight re-gain, etc. It's a very safe place, where people are not judged no matter the place they are in in their personal WLS journey. It would be terrific if you could come! Maryellen posted the details as to where and when. We would love to have more OBHelp members attending; it's so nice to meet the people behind the posts! Be well and have a wonderful holiday! -Karen

...Yeah, it said it all! Gotta love those Quotes! I just read this at Oprah.com; it's very interesting. We have a wonderful group of women in our LIPO group, and staying postiive is the key to success, both in our weight loss journeys, and life in general. Anyway...here's what I read on Oprah's site; perhaps you need to think about this, goodnplenty! You shouldn't be so negative; it won't help you succeed in your own journey! Staying positive leads to success! And LIPO is a group of Positive People!! Toxic Relationships: The People Some relationships constantly drain your energy, in both obvious and subtle ways. Several types of people will exhaust you or deter you from your path to living a fulfilled life. Life coach Cheryl Richardson describes six types of toxic qualities in people. The Blamer This person likes to hear his own voice. He constantly complains about what isn't working in his life and yet gets energy from complaining and dumping his frustrations on you.
The Drainer This is the needy person who calls to ask for your guidance, support, information, advice or whatever she needs to feel better in the moment. Because of her neediness, the conversation often revolves around her, and you can almost feel the life being sucked out of you during the conversation.
The Shamer This person can be hazardous to your health. The shamer may cut you off, put you down, reprimand you, or make fun of your or your ideas in front of others. He often ignores your boundaries and may try to convince you that his criticism is for you own good. The shamer is the kind of person who makes you question your own sanity before his.
The Discounter This is the person who discounts or challenges everything you say. Often, she has a strong need to be right and can find fault with any position. It can be exhausting to have a conversation with the discounter, so eventually you end up giving in and deciding to just listen.
The Gossip This person avoids intimacy by talking about other behind their backs. The gossip gets energy from relaying stories, opinions, and the latest "scoop." By gossiping about others, he creates a lack of safety in his relationships, whether he realizes it or not. After all, if he'll talk about someone else, he'll talk about you.

Just out of curiosity, GoodandPlenty, why do you have this preconceived notion that  Lipo group is anything other than just a good group of really helpful people? Have you been to a meeting? If not, you might want to come and see for yourself how encouraging, generous and honest everyone is toward their fellow group members. Please try not to judge or think that there are ulterior motives when in truth there are none...just human beings helping other human beings. Isn't that what life is supposed to be about anyhow? Enjoy your holidays and may you have peace in your heart.                                                                               Sincerely,                                                                                             Diane
