any relief
My right side of my face is swollen from my chin to just below my eyes. My gums are all swollen on the top. It even goes into the roof of my mouth. The throbbing is really bad at times then stops for about an hour or so. I can't get into the dentist until tomorrow morning. Is there anything I can take for the swelling and pain. I know there are alot that I cant take but dont know which I can take. Thanks, Christine
Christine,
You have my deepest sympathies!!! I have a feeling I have a trip to the dentist coming in the not-too-distant future... before it gets to your stage, hopefully!!! The only pain reliever I was told I could take was Tylenol... no Advil (or ibuprofen at all). Try hot compresses on the swollen areas too. My pcp told me once to take a wash cloth & get it as hot as I could stand & put it on my face in the area of swelling & it should help a little. It did & the warmth was a welcomed relief!! Good Luck!!

My doctor would only allow me Extra Strength Tylenol post surgery. Cru**** if you have to and put it in apple sauce. I don't know where you are at with your surgery. If you are on the liquid stage you can still cut the tylenol in half and take it. If you need something stronger than Tylenol, have your doctor give you a script for Tylenol with codeine which can also be cut in half and taken this way in smaller doses or crushed in apple sauce (or yogurt). Hope this helps.
