how long before i can swim???

Anybody know????

Hi, My surgeon told me two weeks after surgery.  Then at my one week check-up after surgery, the nurse pratitioner told me a month.  I was disappointed because I couldn't wait to go back to the Y.  Then what I found out is that the incision needs to be healed and dry so after three weeks I was in the pool.  Each of us heals at a different rate, so your incisions may heal quicker than mine or slower, but do make sure that they are dry before you go swimming.  Sue
