hi all. i may have to change my insurance nov .1. i had rny on 030507 and my dr dosnt participate with the new insurance co. i know there is always a risk from developing a complication
but wouldnt that have happened by now ?i'm 6 months out. just thought i'd get the collective opinion. thanks lots sue
Not necessarily, sometimes complications can come about a year out. I know people that have had gallbladder and spleen issues4 months out and also a year out. From someone who works at an insurance company, please try to see if you can find another surgeon in your network, or find out how much your current surgeon charges for visits. It will be worth it.
I had the same thing happen at 1 year post op. But when I told Dr Grabers nurse that I was not coming for my follow up because of the insurance issue. She talked with Dr Graber and he was willing to accept what ever my insurance would give him, because I was already a parient. Since then I have had emergency gall bladder removal and just 5 months ago emergency hernia surgery. Thank goodness the hospital takes the insurance and he accepted the rest as full payment. Call him, it does not hurt to try. Also check with the hospital, they may still accept the insurance you are going to.
Good luck
