First, congrats on the weight loss so far, that's awesome I would THINK egg srop soup would be OK, as it's got quite a bit of protein (well, for a soup anyway)... the only thing I can think that MIGHT be a problem is that since it's a liquid, you won't have the benefit of restriction that the band offers... making egg drop soup no different for you that it was before surgery. The other thing to consider is that, since you have no malabsorption as would come with the combined procedures like RNY or DS, you need to take into account the fat content of what you're eating. That all said, as you'll see under my avatar, I DID NOT have the band.... though I DID research it a bit before I made what I thought was MY best decision. though there are some banders here on the NY board, you might get a better (or at least MORE) responses if you repost your question on the Lap Band board (if you haven't already) Keep up the good work

I think the soup is fine.  I actually had a fill recently and I have a tighness that is good and wanted soup.  I ended up getting the hot and sour soup and measured out 3/4 of a cup and ate it. I also added some tofu.  If you are eating soft foods, soups is not a problem.  Just make sure you do not over eat.  You sound like you are doing a great job! I am a bander and I love mine!

WOOWOO! Congrats on the weight loss!!  That's awesome! I did not eat egg drop soup...but, being a bander myself, I'm sure you can!  I was eating cream of chicken soup and chicken broth, which is thick and eggs around 3 weeks.  So, that combination I would thing would be fine.  I've only had issues with chicken and turkey lunch meat.  I think they were too dry and I ate too fast.  Nothing else has given me a problem over the 3 months and 1 week since I was banded.

I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
