Ok I am 12 days post-op.....I had some tuna fish about 2 1/2 hrs ago and I feel a HUGE knot feeling in my chest.  It doesn't  seem to be going away...is it possibly stuck????? I am super uncomfortable and have not felt this before......any ideas?

Hi Dana,
I am 23 days post-op and that happened to me the other day. I thought I was having a heart attack!! It was very painful!! I started feeling like I was going to throw up (sorry). I did, then I felt better.
Did you try drinking something? I notived when I get that feeling I tend to burp alot. Maybe that would help??
Wish I had more advice for you.

I am 10 and a half weeks out, and I remember that feeling very well. I too had to throw it up(sorry). It seemed to be the only way that I could get relief. I would slowly sip on some water( dont gulp, whatever you do). I think it is just that tuna is very heavy and stays in the pouch for a long time. I hope this helps, unfortunately it does happen in the first month or two, but I promise it gets better. Good luck Hugz Tina

I got chicken "stuck".  I was told sips of warm water.  The next time it happened, it worked!!!  For beef, I was told meat tenderizer on a teaspoon with a lil warm water!  Good luck sweetie

I have had problems with tuna and chicken and I didn't start with them until 4-5 weeks out.  Yes, throwing them up right away was the only was I could relieve the pain.  The idea of drinking something warm was probably a very good idea.  Be careful...and avoid "firm" meats until you are a little further along....Good Luck... I got that from cold cereal- whihc did not get mushy enough..  The warm liquids didnt help, but when I stepped out of my air conditioned house intot the sweltering heat of the city.. within seconds it passed. Might have been a coincidence.. or the a/c is keeping my body all 'tight' and too cold.
