I first contacted Dr. Posner and decided not to continue with him for a couple of different reasons.  I did not want my surgery done laproscopically.  I did not want to spend 3-6 months before the surgery losing a certain amout of weight and following the south beach diet.  Last but not least when I called his office for information who ever I spoke with was just plain nasty.  But maybe she was having a bad day.   If your in the Buffalo area why are you considering Detroit MI?  There are other very good WLS surgeons in the Buffalo area.   Have you spoke with their offices or attended their seminars?  Just curious.   Sally

Hi, I have not had any experience with Dr. Posner as I am in NYC, but I wanted to welcome you to the NY board.  Sue

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know where the hell she is. - Ellen DeGeneres

I am going with Dr. Posner. A co-worker had her surgery done by him and she just loves him.  She  had to call him once post op and he responded immediately.  I have gone through all the pre-op stuff and have an appt with Dr. Posner the end of August.  So far so good!

Well Detroit will finance the surgery for a cheaper rate and I don't want to go through the year long battle with diet documentation because I don't have any. I have dieted but not with a doctor or nutritionist so I would have a long waite I hear. I can have this option if insurance doesn't cover it like last ime I started this.

I am new to the board. I have a date for  8/14/07. The doctor put me on a semi liquid diet for 5 weeks and it is killing.   How long is it after the surgery before you can eat real food?
