Surgery tomorrow
I am going in tomorrow for my Lap. RNY, finally after being postponed twice. I am really nervous but excited. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should bring to the hospital. Also any other advice would be great (pain, nervousness, food, vitamins and etc...). Thank you for all of your support over the last couple of months and I can't wait to join the losers club.
WOOWOO Jen!
Congrats on your day finally here! I'm not sure exactly what RNY'ers bring to the hospital, but if you're anything like the majority of us, you will have a roller coaster full of emotions! I take 2 FLINTSTONES vitamins and 2 Viactiv chews a day.
We'll be saving your loser's bench seat for ya!!

Best wishes to you Jen for a super-fast recovery! And yeppers, lip-balam of some kind is what I keep hearing. A friend just had hers a few weeks ago and that is what she needed me to bring her. She said to forget about the pajamas as it's just easier to work around the IV's and such with the hospital gown. So chapstick, undies, socks and/or slippers and a robe for when your IVs come out is about all you need. An iPod might be nice for some tunes or books on tape, r a good book or two to read.
Good Luck Sweetie!
chapstick. We could only wear hospital gowns and since the i.v. didn't come out till discharge, there was no need for a robe. the gowns were nice, though, because they sort of wrapped around, so no butt showing. Besides, it was way too hot for a robe. I would have gone naked if I could have. I was happy to have brought flip flops...they gave those socks w/treads on them for every-two-hour walk, and they were also way too hot.
An ipod is a great idea, especially if you have a particularly loud roommate.
Good luck, Jen!
