The sipping thing will be no problem trust me your new pouch wont let you sip fast. Another funny thing after being on liquids for a few weeks a blended cheese burger will taste like a prime rib to you.

I now your post was meant to be humorous, being who I am I can't help but wonder deep down what may be concerning you about this surgery. What do you think will be the most difficult thing about LVING FOREVER with WLS, will it be the first few moths of years 2 beyond? Giving up carbonation or exercsing consistently/ we all have things that we are concerned about, fear is natural, humor is a good way to manage. Beginning this journey I recommend everyone use the preop period as a dress rehersal to ease the transition postop.
Consider:
Stopping/tapering off all caffeine, carbonation, alcohol, raw sugar, refined carbs such as cake, coookies, candy, chocolate, icecream etc as pertains to your use currently.
Chewing well count 50-100 times a bite, putting fork down in-between bites, eating slow making a meal last 20 min +/-; cutting food into miniture bites size of tip of eraser.
Consider eating smaller portions, eat off a saucer vs large plate or work toward that, start leaving some food on plate, learn to throwfood away and not fee guilty or bad, the only waste is that on your waist...
Trying to refame food as fuel and eating to live not living to eat, avoid the last supper syndrome if possible, losing some wt is helpful to preops to lessen surgical complictions and get s to a healthier wt postop less to lose w/ the tool!
Stopping all fluid prior to a meal and not drinking with a meal and until at LEAStT 30 min after a meal.
Drinking at least 8 cups non-calorie, non carbonation, non caffeinated, non alcoholic beverages a day sipping all day (Water preferable as many do not tolerate crystal lite etc postop early on), learn to drink ever hour because postop there is no 'catching up'.
Start an exercise regimen slowly as able even if it means 10 min 2x day of something, make the effort and time for self is imperative here....
Get all the support you can online, in-person and with friends and family as indicated/safe. Practice asking for what YOU need and allow others to help YOU especially if you are a caretaker and are not used to this....
Strt journaling goals, emotions, consider therapy preop and through the first year one u r worth it, two most of us have emotional eating issues our wt is not the problem it is a mere symptom of stuffing our feelings, the loss of food is scarey and the grief reaction many gp through can be less intnse w/ more support.
Look at self in mirror daily (*I know scarey) weigh weekly or less, take measurements to have many gauges to change and to help the body image issue many have the brain is so slow to realize what the body does over the first 6-12 months...
You are probably saying how can I do this all (and more) well you can, slowly work at it preop b/c it isn't any easier postop when we are mre forced to, if we have worked toward it that is most helpf...You are right the surgery is the first but EASIEST PART. Living postop is the hard and challenging part!!! I never ate blenderized food, we went from liquids 2 wk to soft foods such as cottage cheese, soft scrmbled eggs, tunafish salad, yogurt 1-2T for a meal eaten over 15-20 min then advanced as tolerated to real fod blenderized by our own teeth. Each program is iividual in their recommendations. I think it was 1 yr before I tolerated a burger (w/o bun) beef can be difficult to digest for postops typically but I know that isnt the real concern. HUGS be well on this journey one step at a time, surgery is the first step, the easiest step....
