OPEN RNY vs. LAP RNY

Sheila: I am planning on having lap but im also thinking about the open procedure. I know this may sound strange, but i actually had my gallbladder removed lap and it was the WORST surgery of my life!i was in SOOO much pain for like 2 weeks after. Many people say they had no problems with it. For me it was the gas pains.Nothing helped me ease the pain. I had a C-Section 3 years ago and it was a BREEZE in comparison-I wanted to leave the hospital the next day, and i can honestly say I was NEVER in uncontrollable pain. So it makes me wonder if the open procedure would be easier for me, and again I still need to have my consultation with Dr. Caruana. These are all questions Im going to ask him. I am so excited about finially being able to get the surgery, and just TODAY I PASSED MY PSYCH EXAM and was cleared for surgery. I just have to go to my PCP May 2 and she will also clear me so I am getting closer!Im thinking like late June or July!
