The surgeon I want doesn't take Medicare, any recommendations???
Hey all,
I really heard good things about this doc and went to a support group meeting at his office (tho he wasn't there) and LOVED the environment and the vibe...but now I found out he won't take Medicare. boo-double-hoo. Anyway, just wondering if anybody has a recommendation for me in the WNY area for a WLS doc who takes Medicare??? Thanks a bunch for any help!

I too had medicaid when I started the whole wls process. I can tell you as long as the doctor and hospital have been named a Center of Excellence they will participate with medicaid. Dr.Panemanglore who works out of Synergy Bariatrics from Buffalo DEFIANTLY accepts medicaid and its not a long wait at all to get in too see him. I think all in all I waited about 3wks for my appointment and now I'm just waiting to hear from my insurance company. Nicole, I can't believe you bring up Synergy Bariatrics! The doc I wanted, Dr Caruana, is there too! And thank you for the info on his partner, cause I was looking into him the day I posed this question here and was wondering about him cause he is part of Synergy and I really like that place A LOT. And thanks for info on getting in contact with the right person there, cause I was worried about calling and not knowing who to talk to. It's part of my anxiety disorder. Anyway, thank you both again for responding!
