New to this site and surgery date is April 9

Hi all just want to say that its so encouraging hearing about all of you. I am getting banded on April 9th, im on the liquids. I am going through alot of mixed emotions as you all must have gone through. I know its a tough road, but one im willing to walk on. So i just want to know how some of you have coped with the surgery. Is it really tough in the beginning. Does it hurt? Hi girls and congratulations on your upcoming surgeries. Of course you have all kinds of different feelings and emotions. It's a life changing surgery. I became at peace with it when I realized that all the tests, Dr appts, evaluations ect. led me to that day of surgery...so it must have been meant to be. ( I had mine on the 19th) As for hurting, well everyone is unique and have different thresholds of pain. Their surgeries might be just a little bit more complicated - or not. I can only speak for myself when I say that I came home pain free and have been that way since. I did not have to use pain meds but that might not be the case for everyone. Hopefully you'll just whiz by it like the majority of the people. So calm down and think positively and I know that you'll just do fine. Ask questions here and if there is a support group in your area GO. I went every month pre op and it helps so much. Take Care~~ Diane

Hi and Welcome Lisa.... Congratulations on your surgery date and Good Luck. I too am going for the band..... on April 16th. My Dr. hasn't mentioned anything about liquids to me yet. Please keep in touch and let me know how everything goes since most of the people here have has Gastric BP's. Thanks and Best of Luck!!! Eric
