I'm really getting pissed.....

Thanks.... I appreciate the good wishes. When you say open RNY does that mean they cut you open or are you having the Laporscopic RNY? Do you get to have one meal a day with those shakes? Cause my hubby was on the shakes for the 2 weeks before surgery but he was able to have one meal a day. Good luck to you as well and you'll be just fine with those parties and after the surgery too! Where are you having yours done?

When I get my surgery, It will be the cut open procedure,I wi**** was the Lap. My surgeon feels with my size I would do better this way. I will only be able to have 3 shakes a day plus water or crystal light and that's all. I am having my surgery done at Lockport Memorial Hospital, I have Dr. DiBenedetto in Lockport. He has a really great bedside manner, and answers any of your questions, straight forward without edging around the subject. Where is your surgery getting done and how excited are you about seeing what you will look like 6 mo. to a year from now? Well good luck. Hi Cindy,my surgeon put me on a pre op diet of nothing but clear liquids for three days.It was very hard but i did it.It meant going to bed hungry and waking up hungry.I lost 11 lbs in those 3 days.I followed every letter to the tee after my surgery.It was in my best intrest to do so.I'm post op 3 months and i have not been ill once.Nothing I have eaten now has given me any problems at all.I wish you the best of luck.You can do it . I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time! Like the others were saying. Each surgen is different. for exsample my surgen told me that I could have anything I wanted before surgery. I was never on a liquid diet. Though I did have a couple of shakes a day to help loose weight pre surgery weight! but that was my own choice! I do think that this unfair of them to do this to you! Hang in there. My Doctor has all his patients do a two week all liquid diet before surgery to shrink the liver. I know it is no fun but you will get through it. I did it in January. It really got easier as time went on.

Thanks everyone... I really do appreciate everyone's support and good wishes! I'm a little nervous today but I'm doing really good... no food -- only liquids (shakes and a diet Snapple).... tonight I'll probably just have some broth and some more shakes.... I've been realllly realllly good! Thanks to everyone and I'll post my next message probably like Thurs or Fri when I come home! I'm in the hospital tomorrow by 9AM!
