Finally Approved By My Insurance!

I got a letter today from my insurance and they stated that they have approved me to have Lap RNY with Dr. Kim @ Upstate! I am so happy. Now all I need is a date. I have another appointment on Monday so hopefully I will have one by then.

Congrats!!! I just got approved with Dr. Simon!!! I don't want to burst you bubble but I called all excited and they apparently have to send it to the hospital for scheduling after they get the approcal letter. Apperantly that can take up to three weeks I am only in week two and will call if I don't hear anything by Monday, March 5. Congrats again!!!

Congrats to you also. I called today and I was told the same thing. It's just a waiting game to get scheduled now, sucks. Good luck though, hopw you get a date soon.

Hi there fellow Syracuser...Congratulations. I hear that Dr. Kim is awesome. My first appointment with surgeon is April 3 and its with Dr. Cunningham. Do you go to any support groups in this area? I am trying to find one. I am very happy for you. donna

There are a few support groups in this area. I'm not sure where my copy of the dates and times are but I would suggest going to the Bariatric center and obtaining one from them. My experience with Upstate has been great and I'm sure yours will be too.

WOOHOO!!!!! CONGRATS!!!!! Let me know if you don't have a date in 2 weeks. I have the person to contact in the scheduling department. I called her 1 month after I was approved. She got me a date that same exact day Best of luck to you Molly
