I'm Home....
Hi All,
I came home today from my Adomialplasty. I was in 4 days instead of 1 day.
i had a few problems. I needed a blood tranfusion. so i needed 2 units of blood. my other problem was they put a catheriter in me friday night since i couldnt go on my own and saturday they took it out to come home and then i still couldnt go on my own so they had to drain my bladder and then i could go on my own. My doctor took off 9.2 pounds of skin... no more hanging skin. it is pretty cool. i really only hurt when i get up and down. so i am taking it easy and being careful also. not sure what i weigh yet. i had 3 drains. all the drains are out now. and have lots of staples. the staples come out friday. thanks all for your support.. anita

HI! ~
~
Glad you are home and sans pannus! WOW 9+# is great to have gone! I can related to 2 things above, first it is great to share your complications (*not great you had them)
But I became anemic after Plastics, I did not need a transfusion BUT I needed iron after and will always, so thanks for sharing this may save many postop from sever anemia and fatigue and issues! Secondly I had the issue w/ not being able to urinate after my Lower Body Lift. I have never had this issue prePS, I had to be straight cathed 3-4 times before I could void on my own! My trick was sitting in a warm sitz bath!
YUP that was it after the pain and agony of trying for so long i thought goodness I'llnever pee again! LOL But anyways take care. I had no staples, my PS only uses sutures or steristrips, but I had 4 drains it was the drains that were a nuisance more than anything premedicated before u get those babies out!
HUGS dear! get lots ofprotein in for healing and all your water and vits ok!
Take Care,
Jamie

oh my drains are out. i got one out sunday and the other 2 i got out monday in the hospital. this friday the 26th i do get my staples out. i got them hip to hip and down where my new "old" belly button is also. i will be careful. thanks for all your support.. anita
Hi Anita, congrats on your surgery. I just had my work done 2 weeks ago. I am feeling much better these days. It was a little rough in the begining. I had a tumor removed at the same time so that was a little hard. It gets better day by day. I am very tired and try to not overdue myself when i get that little bit of energy. Its wonderful to look down and not see all that skin there though isnt it. I had 2 drains both came out within a week at my first post op visit. They also used stitches and steristrips on me as well, no staples. I had to have 2 units of blood transfused due to a platlet dysfunction i have so they gave me one unit prior and one during the surgery. Said i had some bleeding but not bad. Again congrats and get your rest.
