In any of the sites i went to just how long the recovery time was for the laproscopic banding surgery. Not the healing time itself, but the actual time from the surgery being completed to being able to return to work. Little help here folks?... Rev. locke

The time varies for any type of surgery. It also depends on what type of job you do. Generally, recovery time for laproscopic surgery is 2-3 weeks if you have a desk job, or one that doesn't require lifting. Recovery time for someone that has a job that involves lifting any amount of weight is usually listed as 4-6 weeks. Hope this helps.

Hi Rev Locke It all depends on the individual and what type of work you do. I had the gastric bypass and was operated on a Monday and went Back towork the following Monday for half days. It was ok for me but too tiring to sit for 4 hours. So I just did half days. When and where are you having your surgery? Marie

Rev. Locke: Recovery is individual, and post-op recommendations also vary by surgeon. If everything is 'typical' or runs 'as planned' which there is no guarentee then most sources would probably say: 1-2 weeks (this is a quote actually from the lapband book by inamed!) http://www.lapband.com/lapband/lapbandfaqs.do#10099032 Here are 3 groups who can give individual experiences as well, from the OH one to the NYC one to the over 5000 member yahoo main bandster group! http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgtype-forums/LapBand/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/bandsters-nyc/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bandsters/ IF you have a surgeon in mind call them and ask typical recovery time to return to work (and indicate the type of work u do!)
