I have a question about length of stay... My surgeon told me that I would be in the hospital for 2 nights.. but that was before he found out that I had to have my gallbladder removed as well..... is this going to add to my length of stay at all?
getting really nervous here... 2 days to go....
Jenny
Hiya Jenny...
I know others that have had their gallbladders removed during surgery and it did not effect the length of stay for them. It just increases your surgery time a bit.
Hugs to you to help ease your worries... Everything will be fine. You will be home and recouperating in no time at all. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
Hugs...

Jenny,
I do not think it would lengthen your stay any longer but you might just want to check with the surgeon to make sure.
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well and you have a smooth recovery.
Feeling nervous is normal right now hun ~hugs~ Remember to take deep breaths and relax from time to time....

Hi Jenny,
When I had my RNY on 7/31/06, I also had my gallbladder removed and a hernia repair. This didn't lengthen my hospital stay, but it did lengthen the amount of hours I was under (5.5) also due to scar tissue from a hysterectomy. It also gave me 9 incisions instead of the 5-6 with just the RNY.
All in all, its been 3 months and I'm down -60lbs and counting! A truly totally awesome journey thus far. (I'll be even happier when and if my thighs stop rubbing...lol)
I wish you success and a quick recovery.
We are here for you anytime.....best of luck my friend!
Maryellen
