I have a question about length of stay... My surgeon told me that I would be in the hospital for 2 nights.. but that was before he found out that I had to have my gallbladder removed as well..... is this going to add to my length of stay at all? getting really nervous here... 2 days to go.... Jenny

Hiya Jenny... I know others that have had their gallbladders removed during surgery and it did not effect the length of stay for them. It just increases your surgery time a bit. Hugs to you to help ease your worries... Everything will be fine. You will be home and recouperating in no time at all. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Hugs... Lori

Jenny, I do not think it would lengthen your stay any longer but you might just want to check with the surgeon to make sure. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that all goes well and you have a smooth recovery. Feeling nervous is normal right now hun ~hugs~ Remember to take deep breaths and relax from time to time.... Debra P

Hey Jen, You'll stay as long as you need to stay. Don't fret over it. It is hard not to be nervous before surgery. Do what you can to treat yourself like a queen. Be kind and easy on yourself and you'll be on the other side of it before you know it. Hugs, Amy

Hi Jenny, When I had my RNY on 7/31/06, I also had my gallbladder removed and a hernia repair. This didn't lengthen my hospital stay, but it did lengthen the amount of hours I was under (5.5) also due to scar tissue from a hysterectomy. It also gave me 9 incisions instead of the 5-6 with just the RNY. All in all, its been 3 months and I'm down -60lbs and counting! A truly totally awesome journey thus far. (I'll be even happier when and if my thighs stop rubbing...lol) I wish you success and a quick recovery. We are here for you anytime.....best of luck my friend! Maryellen
