question about Wegman's protein powder

I have only found one at Wegmans. It was chocolate pure whey in a canister in the vitamins isle. I honestly don't remember how much it was, but I will be looking tomorrow. I have to shop for my post surgery clears and proteins. If I see it I will let you know. Molly LAP RNY 10/4/06 318/307/150

How much protein does the Wegmans Whey protein powder have? It has 18 g of protein by itself. If you add skim milk, then that's 8 more grams. How much does it cost? $15.49. I buy both the chocolate and the vanilla. Whey is much easier for our systems to absorb and digest, as is the case with most people. I had a protein shake this morning made with: 1.5 scoops of vanilla whey protein powder, 8 fl. oz. V-8 Fusion Peach-Mango, 3/4 cup frozen mangoes, and 5 slices frozen peaches. It was like a smoothie! Hi Jen, Thanks for the info. I will be using skim milk. I never use water, Just ice cubes. Wow the smoothie you make sure sounds good. I will have to try that. Is the protein powder near the organic foods down by the meats? I found out i need more protein since I am losing lots of hair in the tub. Thanks.. Hi Anita, I get my whey protien powder from Walmart it is $12.?? for a 2 pound jar.It's called Body Fortress.I seem to like the vanilla best and I use skim milk and throw in a banana.20 grams of protien plus 8 more for the milk.I don't know if the banana has any protienBut you must try those organtic soy chips at wegmans!!! When I want to munch on something they are so good !!! 8 grams of protien per serving.I love the barbeque flavor.I still have alot of head hunger but at least I'm trying to make better choices.Darlene

Hi Darlene, Thank you for your info on protein powder. i have seen where alot of people on here have said that the Body Fortress is very good. I just odered some proteindelite chocolate coconut. they say it tastes like a almond bar candybar. i know what they are from pre op. so those soy chips are good huh. i will look into them. the most i snack on is rice cakes. i have changed my habits and try to eat health snacks. thanks. anita

Wow Darlene, I just bought the vanilla body fortress and it is very good. i did put 1/2 banana in it plus 3 ice cubes and 1 t. instant coffee and 1 cup skim milk in the blender. i loved it. you got any more recipes i could do.. thanks.......
