Hey all - Yes, I'm coming to one of my fave cities in December on a bus trip. Last year, I posted about good Italian places in midtown, and was directed to Carmine's. OMG!! Pre-op, I would've been in hog-heaven, but post-op, I had to be satisfied with piglet-heaven. There were three of us, and we had enough food to easily feed 8!!! This year, we'll be a little wiser when ordering! So here's our agenda: 12/6 - Arrive @ The Edison around 11-ish. Unload junk and head over to Carnegie Deli for lunch. We tried The Stage last year, didn't care for it - back to Carnegie!! After lunch, down to Central Park for a carriage ride, then some shopping in the immediate area. DINNER - OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS - needs to be in midtown/theater district because our friends have play tickets. After dinner, shopping @ Macy's, then on to Rockefeller Center to see THE TREE! 12/7 - Breakfast at The Cafe Edison. THE DAY IS FREE UNTIL WE MEET THE BUS @ 5:45 at the Edison. We were thinking about an early dinner at Carmine's, but again, we're open to suggestions. I just don't want to get too far away from midtown, because the last time we chanced it, we had to RUN and I mean, RUN, for the subway. My Mom will be with us this time and has asthma, so running anywhere is NOT an option! We love to have tea in tearooms - any suggestions in the area? I know some of the hotels have tea, but I'd like to know what you think. In the past, we've done the Empire State Building and a bus tour, but the bus tour is where we ran into a problem because they made soooo many stops on the way back, we had to jump off and hit the subway. Any help would be appreciated!!!! Thanks so much!!!! Teresa

Thanks Deb! I try to use sarcasm/quick wit/humor on a daily basis. It keeps me sane and keeps my co-workers alive, especially since most of them don't get the sarcasm!!!!!! I also used to say that pre-op, I was a "clothes horse," but now I'm a "clothes pony!!!!" Hugs, Teresa

Hey Chris - Thanks for replying! We did Little Italy two years ago, ate at Luna, which a friend of mine said was the BEST! And walked away sorely disappointed! However, the bakery next door, Ferrarra's, was SIMPLY AWESOME!!! Thanks again, Teresa

Hey Kenny - OMG - LOVED the bakery!!! As stated in my reply to Chris, I loved LUNA not so much!!! We have a Vaccaro's Italian Pastry Shop here in Baltimore that's pretty grand, too - if you ever get here, give a shout and we'll take you there!!! I tell myself that cannoli filling has LOTS of protein!!!! Thanks, Teresa
