Approved..yay!
Okay, so that was fast. Paperwork was first submitted on Sept 5th but, insurance needed a few other things from my surgeon's office. I guess there was a mix up because the lady at my surgeon's office thought she had faxed over the documents already. I didn't find this out until weeks later, thinking that it was the insurance company holding up the show. Turns out the documents that were needed never got to the case manager at Oxford. I had to take matters into my own hands, and co-ordinated the receipt of said documents as well as any other info that might be needed by my case manager at Oxford. Well, all was taken care of in a matter of hours (due to my insistance to follow through with everything step by step) and within a day, I was approved for my Lap RNY. So, let this be a lesson to all pre-ops! Be proactive! If I had sat back and waited thinking my surgeon's office sent everything they needed to my insurance company when they didn't, I would have been denied! October 6th is my surgery date officially now. Oxford Liberty is pretty efficient once they get all your paperwork. So,I can officially dream of squeezing (well not anymore) myself into a bikini next summer
