Opinions on the Fort Greene area (Brooklyn, NY)

Hello everyone! Just looking for some honest opinions of the Fort Greene area of Brooklyn, NY. This may be outdated to be asking, since I've already forwarded money and have booked a place to stay while in town for surgery...but I'd like to know what YOU have to say. If you feel more comfortable sending me a private email, please do so. I'd just like to make sure that my mother will be okay while I'm in hospital, and that we aren't being taken advantage of. I have lived in Brooklyn all my life fort greene is a nice place and safe

depends on what part of ft greene.Fort greene is nice overall but as in all neighborhoods they do have its rough areas

It is described as: Centrally located steps from the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the popular downtown Brooklyn area. Minutes from Manhattan with a variety of restaurants, shopping, parks and museums. The apartment rental is on the street Fort Greene Place, close to LaFayette Ave. Hopefully this place works out well, because I don't think my mom needs any more stress in her life.
