Question about Medicaid

Does anyone know if medicaid will cover a tummy tuck and breast reconstruction? And is there a website I can go to, to find out what is covered and what is not? Kelly

I believe that there has to be some medical conditions before medicaid will cover something like this.

I have heard that medicaid will cover a tummy tuck, BUT only if your doc has documented reacurring rashed/sores etc. Then it is not just for cosmetic reasons but for medical resons. I havn't heard of the breast reconstruction, but I don't see why that would be a problem considering that you could get rashes/sores under there as well. I have medicaid as well, I also hope for the tummy tuck. Good luck. If you find out anything more PLEASE PLEASE let me know.

I have a cousin with medicaid and her WL surgeon has set up the tummy tuck for her with the plastic surgeon. They also cover the inner thigh and breast but the Dr. has to refer you and state specific problems, most common rashes. Mari M
