Obesity impacting posture
Just curious if anyone else has experienced poor posture post op. Over the past 2 months I've been told by a couple of different people that I seem to be slouching over (forward) frequently. I noticed it for the first time when I was told and I have noticed it walking past mirrors. I'm thinking it is something that was always there and not much noticed when I had the big ugly gut. Now I work every day at standing with corect posture, stoma*****hest out head back as mom use to say.
Any comments?
Thanks

Hi Kenny,
Nowadays, I look like an old lady when I move around b/c I am all slouched over. I think the skinner you get the more noticable it is. Everyone keeps asking me "why am I walking like that?" I just have too many pains and I am too skinny, that is all.
Nevermind the taking out/moving intestine pains I am not even talking about that! (That is another story in itself.) My shoulders and lower back still kill from being hung like jesus on the cross on the operating table for two and half hours.
I have skinny person pains as well, I cant sit more than 10 minutes w/out my back and butt going numb. I have started carrying his little pillow around with me for my back and butt and it helps some even though I look like my 60 year old 10th grade english teacher. (I remember she used to use carry a pillow around all the time for her back)
Ok self pity party is over.
Anywho, I havent recieved anything yet but I look forward to it and will let you know when I do! Thanks again. Take care.

Thanks Tavia. I am not getting any pillows as of yet but one never knows. The FedX guy told me 5 business days. It was sent on Monday afternoon that means day 4 is tomorrow and who knows when day 5 will be with a holiday weekend? Just keep vigil on your front stoop andtheywill show up sooner or later? hahaha
thanks

Tavia,
Hun sorry for hijacking this post but I just wanted to say: Did you ever think that you would EVER say you are TO SKINNY? That is something I know for myself I would never hear in a million years but sometimes you just don't know.
I am so glad you are recovering and getting better, keep us posted!

Hey Missy Miss,
Nothing surprises me anymore. This whole journey has been nothing but bizarre for me. To be honest, I have gotten used to the 'skinny' tavia verus the 'fatso' tavia. It just seems like ages ago my bmi was 46!! AHHH!!! Lord have mercy!
Feel good you! xoxo

Howdy!
As odd as this sounds you also may reach new heights! I was told that as the weight comes off I will elongate (G*D WILLING) because my hips/spine/knees will no longer be bogged down by the excess baggage. I'm hoping like hell that after the bog is gone i can reach 5' tall! I make sure i stand up straight and I don't allow myself to slouch simply because I'm so short and I can't afford to look any shorter then I already am. Be Well, ANDI
