Goodmorning everyone. This weather really bites, i hate being stuck inside with the kiddies espically with summer comming to an end soon. So here I am thinking again. We havent posted all summer what we are eating. What is a typical day for you guys? Maybe you can suggest some of your favorite foods, specify how far out you are so we can relate and get ideas! Love you all and I have enjoyed reading all your mini introductions and all about what everyone does for a living. Keep on posting! I am 10 months out on the 31st of August. A typical day for me is as follows... Breakfast consistes of either a scrambled egg with cheese, strawberries and half banana or a bowel of plain oatmeal with half banana. Lunch varies from 3/4 slice of pizza or a snack wrap on my bad days to salad or cheese and turkey or a cup of brocoli cheese soup...all depends on my mood. Dinner some kind of meat usually chicken although i have tried baked pork chops a hot dog occasionally ...usually its chicken with salad or cucumbers ...chicken cutlets sit the best with me. I have not touched nor do i plan to touch pasta or rice...I stick to my protien for dinner.... Snacks consist of STRAWBERRIES. popcorn, watermelon, banana with peanutbutter, pretzles sometimes... I also have at least 2 cups of coffee a day, hazelnut or vanilla nut with sugar free coffeemate creamer and splenda mixed in with my chocolate protein powder... I am doing better with my water although still a trouble spot for me...I have been usuing the rasberry crystal lite and that helps alot. Ok what are you guys eating???? LisaMarie

Hello Lisa Marie, I'm new here. i'm 12 days post op. still on protein shakes. go to dr on friday for follow up. reading all the stuff u can eat after mushy foods is making me drool. i can wait to be eating like everyone else. so far pre and post op i've lost 37 pounds. i'm kinda tempted to just try to eat something mushy to c if i can tolerate it but i'm kinda thinking how disappointed i'll b if i do it. really the only thing i've been eating is my shakes and sugar free popsicles. want to have coffee but dr says i'm not allowed yet . i'll find out when i go see dr friday. ok well u all have fun discussing what i cant have and i'll keep checking back to see what else is new here. keep up the great work. Hi LisaMarie, I've been having a protein shake in the morning with added banana and yogurt, some kind of beans and veggies, or egg salad with a 1/2 a ww matzoh and a piece of fruit for lunch, and beans, brown rice and veggies or sometimes salmon and veggies for dinner. Occasionally, I've had a slice of pizza for dinner. My nutritionist gave me a great idea for water because I was having the darndest time getting in the water daily: She told me to take a 20oz bottle of water with me when I exercise and slam that down first thing in the morning (when I exercise), that puts me 1/3 of the way through before I've even left the house. Then I usually have large nonfat latte in the mid day, and then I do a decaf 20oz tea in the afternoon. That just about covers the water scene. I can easily do that every day. xoxo Amy

I miss the what did we eat today posts too. It also helped keep me on track. Well here goes my typical day B- 1 banana or 4 oz light and fit yogurt S- pure protein bar or pb and cheese crackers only sometime have snack inbetween breakfast and lunch depending on when I get a lunch L- salad w/chic breast or soup all different kinds S- soy chips, pretzels, or fruit, or protein shakes, cheese cheese and more cheese D- usually chicken or pork or beef, with vegies (love summertime fresh vegies from the stand down the road) or cottage cheese S- same snacks as before I don't always eat that often or that much, but I do find myself snacking quite a bit, but have been trying to snack on good stuff. Love the soy chips cause they are high in protein and you still get that crunchy craving taken care of. Water is still hard for me to get it all in. I drink a lot of decaf coffee, but still have my one or two regular coffees a day with splenda and SF flavored creamers. Shannon 257/165/130???

Hey LisaMarie, Don't ask!!!!! I actually just started using fit day again yesterday because at 6 1/2 months out, I feel like i can eat way too much. The reality is that I'm not, but it just feels like it compared to immediately post op. My typical day: B- Atkins protein shake (nothing better then shaking a can and drinking it..lol) S- Hard cheese, or sometimes i make cheese cream cheese wraps (1 table spoon of cream cheese in the middle of a slice of cheese ) L- Usually a salad with some type of meat on top of it the dressing vary, but I've been on a ranch kick. Although i really need to some maries blue cheese again..it's one of my favorites. If i don't have a salad, i'll have a sandwich...something simple like tuna S- Akins Shake D- Some type of meat, with rice and potatoes. Yesterday i had 1 1/4 cups of chilli (beans and meat) with 3/4 a cup of rice S 1 cup of low carb ice cream I always get in my suppliments, and at least 100 grams of protein. Yesterday i ate about 1800 calories, 107 grams of protein, about 100 grams of net carbs, and 54 percent of my overall calories came from fat (which is a good thing for a DSer). I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer vacation (for the kids) Scott
