Approved, But No Surgery
well the day has finally come, I did get my approval letter last week, but now my surgeon does not want to operate because I was hospitalized for having blood clots, he said he can't do it unless I am off the coumadin,my primary care said I will be on for atleast 3 to 6 months before I can stop taking it.. I know have to see a Hematologist and get an opinion from him like that's going to change anything. .I am NOW starting to think this is really not for me, it seems like when at the top, someone or something knocks be back down, I have no more energy for this, this is so crazy, I have not read any profile that has had much problems as I am...I am going to go weep now, thanx for reading

Sorry you're having these problems, but you cannot give up. Go and see the hematologist. Get an opinion. 3 to 6 months might seem like a long time now, but we all know time passes quickly.
If you really want this and think it will make your life better, the wait will be worth it.
I will be praying for the dear Lord to give you the strength.
Joanne

Hi Melvina.
I am so sorry to hear about your difficulties with blood clots. But, please don't give up hope. I'm new to the site and read your profile when I first signed up. You are an inspiration to more people than you realize. You are definitely an inspiration to me. I read the profile of a young and beautiful black woman that would not let her weight overcome her, but, made an active decision to correct it, and that profile was your's. You are worth the 3-6 month wait for your body to be ready for the change your heart and mind wants AND needs to make. Sorry if this is cheesy, but please take this as another turn for you not the end of the road. 3 to 6 months and then you'll be on the losing side!
Melvina,
OK,I know you are down and your probably not going to want to hear this but I truly believe everything happens for a reason. This is not your time for surgery but 3 - 6 months is not that long to wait. You know how quick the holidays come well 3 months is Thanksgiving! So with prayer and positive belief you can have your surgery by the new year.Be happy they found the clot now.You will be just fine Melvina hang in there.
Best of luck,
Tina
Sorry Melvina about your news. I too have had blood clots and almost lost my life because of them. I was on coumadin for a year.
The delay in your surgery is disappointing for you but trust me, you do not want to go into surgery with a clotting problem. It can lead to very serious complications. Maybe your angel made sure the clots were found before surgery to insure you made it through surgery well and whole. The time will fly by, you will be well and then you will ready to move to the next step.
