Starting my journey....

Hi everyone, my name is Betsy. I am new to the board. I joined a week ago, but I haven't posted until now. I have done lots of research on the internet about WLS. I have taken the first step and signed up for a seminar that is mandatory by my surgeon. I hope to make some new friends here. I have read many of your profiles, you guys have been through some amazing things. I am so impressed. Thank you, Betsy

Hi Betsy, You'll love this site, I'm so glad I found it when I started my journey. I also have Dr. O'Malley! I had seminar December 29, 2005. I have a September 1 surgery date. Any questions on anything feel free to e-mail me. The time went by quickly and it was great having help from everyone here. Regina

Hi Betsy, I am not from New York but rather from Canada. I have chosen to have Out of Country Surgery in Rochester with Dr. O'Malley as well so I check on your board as well as the ontario site. I have been to the seminar and started down the road to the nutrition and psych appointments. I have thos eon the 18th of September. When is your Seminar? if you can, try to have a good start on your nutrition and be prepared to start cutting out things like carbonated drinks, gum, and sugar in general. The nutritionist will have you set goals and these are great starting points. Good luck and see you down the road towards your thinner you.
