Depends on if they have the funds or not. The center here in Syracuse isn't yet because of financial reasons. That's what I heard at group tonight anyways. So not sure in your case. What hospital are you talking about?
It takes a while. Mount Sinai is one and I spoke to a few people there and there were a number of different audits they had to go through. The ABAS (I believe that is the acronym) reviews everything.

If you don't mind traveling a little ways. Horseheads, NY has a Center of Excellence. Dr. Cole, Dr. McCain, and Dr. Moon. Surgeries are performed at Arnot Ogden Hospital. About 2 hour drive from Rochester.
