First camping trip since surgery....What do I eat??
So, I'm going somewhere for a week to camp, and I'm having some issues with what to bring and what will last. I'm thinking I'll bring some portioned out containers with buffalo meat (it's really super soft!), some reduced fat cheese sticks, maybe even some soy crisps, but then I just blank. Oh and some South Beach Diet Meal Replacement bars. They have a lot of calories, but I'll be working it off with the amount of walking I'll be doing. I should probably mention that we'll be camping at Six Flags. So, breakfast, lunch or dinner suggestions? Plus any healthy snacking tips for during the day as I walk around would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, my OH friends!

hi Jen , just a couple suggestions for your camping trip. I just spent 3 days there with my daughters, ( and could barely walk after I got home, Lol) anyway.....I took popsicles, applesauce cups, the lil pretzels and cheese snack packs, cheese sticks, you could try some of the 100 calorie packs...
I was still a lil tempted to snack on stuff there, but not bad really, for the most part I would go back to the camper and have something to munch on. ( but I did have 4 bites of a funnel cake!!!)
well, have fun!!!

Hi Jen,
We're going camping the weekend of the 21st. We're primitive campers(not my choice-lol). We sleep in a tent and do fire cooking. I haven't given much thought as to what to eat yet.
Sounds like your choices are good. I like the SB meal bars. I don't know if you can tolerate raisins, but I snack on them and probably will be bringing them with me. I also carry beef jerky in my purse in case I am stuck somewhere without food. I snack on Edamame, but I need to look up info on how to store them after you cook them. I could use tips too because we camped two years ago, and I pigged out. I won't this time. I'll be skipping the smores this year.
